Japanese Telecom KDDI to Serve US Managed Service Clients
KDDI America, Inc, the US division of the Japan-based telecom solutions company and mobile carrier KDDI Corp has just made another move into the North American market through a range of managed hosting services for monitoring, securing and maintaining enterprise network infrastructures. The new line of service showcases the networking equipment provided by Juniper Networks.
The service is going to offer wide-area network connectivity, on-site Ethernet LAN and infrastructure security, says the company statement. These services can help businesses and organization simplify their network operations thereby significantly reducing maintenance cost. The Total Managed Security Router by KDDI America will allow clients to procure and maintain network infrastructure environments including switches, firewalls and routers from a point of contact.
KDDI Corporation is one of the leading wireless carriers in Japan. The company offers a range of enterprise scale managed services in its mother country such as managed hosting and co-location services. The firm continues to expand on these services by offering the Global Managed Security service early in 2009 for its local market. This includes installation, construction and maintenance of firewall as well as of Unified Threat Management technologies that are designed to protect network environments and implement operations management and security monitoring services. In June 2009, KDDI has also launched its KDDI Cloud Server Service in Japan. The service offers virtual private data centers that use a platform as a service model.
KDDI made its first foray into the North American market through the launch of its mobile virtual network operator in 2007. This mobile phone service resells wireless access in partnership with Sprint. KDDI America is expected to launch the Total Managed Security Router suite by the end of the first quarter of 2010.
